If you have been asked by an organisation to become an administrator for their event you will first need to have created a SignMeUp account. The existing administrators can then add your email address to their administrators list.
Once you have been added to the list of administrators you will then need to set up two factor authentication inorder to login and access the admin area. You will need to do this every time you log in to SignMeUp.
Setting up two factor authentication
Before you can set up two factor authentication you will need to download an authenticator app onto your device. It is recommended that you use Google Authenticator.
The first time you try to access the admin area you will see this message
Clicking on enable will then take you to the QR code to scan with your authenticator app, or add the code manually.
You will then need to type in the code your authenticator app is showing you and click confirm. This will complete the set up of two factor authentication.
Once two factor authentication has been set up correctly you will be given a set of recovery codes which can be used in the event of you losing the device with the authenticator app. Keep these recovery codes safe as they cannot be generated again. In ‘My Profile’ you can access these recovery codes when you log in and disable two factor authentication if you are no longer an admin.
Finding the admin area
To access the admin area for your organisation you need to click on your name at the top right hand corner and this drop down menu will appear
Click on ‘Admin’ and you will be taken through to the admin area of the organisation. If you are an admin for more than one organisation then you can navigate to the different organisations by clicking on in the navigation bar.
Admin permissions
Each admin can be given different permissions within SignMeUp. You might have full system access or you might have only been granted permissions to specific areas.
If you cannot access the areas you are expecting in order to fulfil your role as organisation admin you need to contact your organisation lead administrator as they will need to edit your permissions.
